Having issues with Continuity across your Apple Devices?

If you’re having issues with Continuity features working properly between your iOS (iPhone / iPad) devices and macOS computer, there’s a simple fix that should solve these.

When you use a Mac or any other Apple device, you’re able to do incredible things. And when you use them together, you can do so much more. Make and receive phone calls without picking up your iPhone. Snap a photo or scan a document with your iPhone, and it appears right on your Mac. Automatically unlock your Mac when you’re wearing your Apple Watch. And copy and paste images, video, and text from your iOS device to your nearby Mac, or vice versa.

In essence, you just need to log out of iCloud on your iOS device(s) and after logging in again, you should have instant access to Continuity features as expected.

To do this, keep in mind you’ll need your iCloud account details to first deactivate Find My iPhone and after to login back again. You don’t need to logout of the App Store, in case you have a different account for this.

Just go into Settings and select your iCloud account (the first thing in Settings, where your picture is), scroll all the way down and you should find a “Log out” button after your iCloud enabled devices.

Continuity on iCloud enabled devices allows you to do a bunch of really useful things out-of-the-box, such as:

  • Use Universal Clipboard
  • Open a web page on a different device
  • Handoff: continue writing a note / message / mail / many more.
  • Get instant straightened documents on your computer after you photograph them with your iPhone
  • Answer/Make any iPhone calls on your Mac
  • Auto unlock your Mac with your Apple Watch
  • Instant hotspot on your Mac
